Eight towns, four routes
The map is not a travel guide. Each town is a different way for the same eight businesses to earn. You only walk the route of the industry you chose, and only the next town on that route can open.
How a town opens
The first town is free: it is where that industry starts. Every later town stays locked until it is the next stop, you have earned enough Island Fame in the career, and the town you are leaving has been built. “Built” means its businesses have been opened and at least half of them have a manager. Later stops ask you to push the current town further. Fame you spend does not erase the fame you have earned, and a town that is already open does not close because a threshold moved.
A new town is another copy of your industry’s eight businesses, with that place’s own pace. It is not a new industry.
Four kinds of town
- Fast beach trade. Shorter cycles and smaller payments, so cash turns over quickly. Playa de Palma is this town.
- A speciality. Two businesses in the lineup pay more and finish faster. The rest of the row does not get that treatment. Magaluf and Pollença work this way.
- A wide town. Opening more of the lineup, and buying upgrades, lifts the whole place. Palma does this as a city. Alcúdia does it as a family bay.
- A project town. Cycles run longer and a single payout is larger. Sóller is the mildest of these, Cala Millor sits further out, and Andratx is the slowest with the largest payments.
The towns
Fast beach trade
Playa de Palma
Beach, neon, umbrellas. Cycles are short and payments are smaller, so the till moves. Food & Drink starts here.
Party speciality
Magaluf
Bars beside the Playa. Two businesses in the lineup are the speciality: they pay more and finish faster.
City spread
Palma
Cathedral, shops, density. The more of the lineup you open, and the more you upgrade, the more the whole town lifts. Nightlife starts here.
Family bay
Alcúdia
Bay, old walls, holiday homes. A wide lineup again: businesses and upgrades support each other. Luxury & Hotels starts here.
Hotel projects
Cala Millor
East-coast sand and a long promenade. Cycles are long. When they finish, the payment is large.
North-bay speciality
Pollença
The port, Cala Sant Vicenç, and a quieter crowd. Two businesses carry the town. The others do not get the same pace.
Valley projects
Sóller
Tram, oranges, narrow streets. Slower cycles than the beach, thicker payments than a snack stand. Experiences starts here.
Harbour projects
Andratx
The west-coast port. The longest cycles on the island, and the largest single payments. It is a late stop on every route.
